Problems and directions of improving the efficiency of functioning the banking system of Ukraine
Abstract
The article has defined the features of functioning of the banking system of Ukraine. The development and present state of the domestic banking system are analyzed. Trends of foreign capital in the national banking system are investigated. Advantages and disadvantages of foreign capital in the domestic banking system are considered. Results of banking activities and indicators that characterizing the effectiveness of the national banking system in the modern conditions of financial and economic crisis and European integration are analyzed. Main factors that affect the effectiveness of banking institutions in Ukraine are defined. Main factors that affect the effectiveness of activity of the banks of Ukraine are defined. The problem of capitalization of domestic banks and its solution through mergers and acquisitions of banks are considered. Directions of improving the efficiency of the banking system functioning by improving the monetary policy of the National Bank of Ukraine to eliminate banks through of their reorganization, improving credit policy of banks are substantiated.
