Strategic analysis of the area as a tool of determination of enterprises threats to economic security of bread enterprises

Abstract

Introduction. Nowadays general theoretical economic security issues are investigated in the scientific literature.  Nevertheless, there are a lot of aspects of the specific areas acivity that require special treatment. The activity of bakery enterprises is accompanied by specific narrow specialization which is caused by the uniqueness of both the raw materials, which they dispose, and of  the peculiarities of its processing and storage. Due to this fact, there is a need for the formation of a unique range of threats to bakery businesses economic security. The conduction of strategic analysis of the industry has to create the idea as for the characteristics of the industry and lay the foundation for the creation of economic security of bakerycompanies. Timely determination of threat factors is a prerequisite for a satisfactory level of ability to withstand adverse circumstances for production, to ensure stability of the company, the stability of its development, the objectives of the company and the ability to avoid threats and eliminate the negative impacts. Issues of strategic threats of this area become very important. It leads to the necessity of conduction of strategic  analysis of the industry for the purpose of drawing up a list of distinct strategic threats for specific industries.

Goal. The purpose of this article is to ground the need for strategic analysis for bakery industry, for structuring its key segments that are specific, for identification of sectoral characteristics and for creation of the list of threats to economic security. Analysis and structuring of the classification should improve the understanding of threats to economic security and bakery businesses and to optimize their ability to confront the destructive processes.

Results. A strategic analysis of the bakery industry has been conducted. The characteristics of the industry in five specified areas of strategic analysis are defined. It allowed to create a list of specific threats to economic security of bakery enterprises. Effective use of this list will create a basis for economic security compliance system.
