Investment component of economic strategy of France: global challenges and national response
Abstract
Introduction. In the conditions of global instability in the process of implementation of national economic strategy the role of investment policy as a set of actions that have to increase the level of attraction of foreign investment potential to the process of national social reproduction, to create optimal conditions for investments, to provide sustainable social and economic development on the basis of foreign investments of public and private sectors has become very actual.
International investment policy of France is an important mechanism for implementation of the national economic development strategy and ensure its global competitive leadership.
Purpose. The aim of the article is to outline the nature and current trends in international investment policy of France.
Results. In the era of the rise of global volatility in international investment policy of France it has become dominant the trend towards its further liberalization by creating a favorable investment climate in the country, implementation of appropriate fiscal, monetary and depreciation measures; tools for stock market regulation; legislative support for foreign investors and their protection; and adjusting conditions for attracting foreign investment and foreign investment outflow abroad. French investors in recent years has been diversifying investment flows in terms of sectoral, sectoral and cluster structure of their direction. The article comprehensively analyzes the following things: evolution, current status and trends in international investment activity of the country; processes of international diversification of investment strategy of France; the dynamics of the international activities of French multinationals; scale processes of transnational mergers and acquisitions involving French capital; the geographic structure of foreign investment.
