Analytical evaluation of the current financial and economic status of small and medium enterprises

Abstract

Scientific article analyzes the current financial and economic status of small and medium-sized enterprises and governmental policy of their support. The results of the analysis testify that the level of enterprises’ development in Ukraine is insufficient and the government supports them inefficiently. The effective development of any country greatly depends on the status and functioning of the subjects of business activity, in particular small and medium-sized businesses. Thus, they cannot effectively function because of the effect of social and economical and organizational factors, the limitation of the own financial resources, the difficulties in receiving long-term and medium-term credits, the absence of an effective governmental support. On the basis of the statistical information, the main tendencies of development of the small and medium-sized businesses are researched. The obtained results prove the poor status of the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and as a result they cannot act the leading role of the sector of economy, which is capable to improve the competitive environment; they also cannot create new working places due to the slow quantitative growth; do not ensure the realization of innovations. The obtained results prove that there is a problem of access of  medium-sized businesses to banks loans which is caused by problems of banks-creditors and debtors-entrepreneurs.The bank crediting market of medium-sized businesses can be very perspective if there is the governmental support of medium-sized businesses and bank sector.
