Analysis of regional differentiation of households of Ukraine to overcome asymmetries of their social and economic development
Abstract
Introduction. The market transformations in Ukraine have led to significant changes in the nature of interaction among business entities, formed new requirements for the state to provide quantitative and qualitative changes in production, exchange and consumption and, of course, greatly influenced the behavior of domestic households having changed social and economic principles of their functioning. Transformational changes have reduced the level of trust of households to the state as a guarantor of their social interests, caused an acute need of the population to adapt to dynamic changes caused by the reform of the institutional environment structure. Accordingly the issue of scientific substantiation of social and economic reforms is becoming more actual. It should aim at ensuring sustainable development of both rural and urban households in different regions of Ukraine and improving the level and quality of the life of population in general.
Goal. The goal of the article is to carry out the theoretical and empirical analysis of domestic households, specifying their regional characteristics and asymmetries of development and search for ways of solving existing problems.
Results. The main indexes that reflect the level of development of households are defined. The trends, dynamics and regional characteristics of development of households are analyzed. The problems of effective domestic households functioning which require solution within the framework of functioning the state sector of national economy are found out. The measures that will contribute to the balanced development of households of in Ukraine are suggested.
