Statistical analysis of the average wage in Ukraine and European Union

Abstract

The subject of the research is a set of theoretical and practical aspects of the analysis of the relationship of social and economic phenomena index method. In particular due to the fact that the  wage as the main source of income of the population is a determining factor in the formation of social tension in the society's solvency, which in its turn directly affects the economic activity in the real sector of the economy, the index method is used for factor analysis and for the determination of the impact of several factors on the average for all economic activities wages in Ukraine and several European Union countries with the highest and the lowest level of salaries. In order to study the impact of sectoral structure of employment, structural changes in the number of employees and wage level changes in different types of economic activities on the dynamics of the average wage of workers, it has been held the index analysis of the dynamics of the average level of wages through a system of three interconnected indexes. They are variable composition, fixed composition and structural changes. Such analysis  did not show decisive influence inter-sectoral division of labor at the level of its payment due to minor recent changes in the structure of employment in Europe. The highest wages are common to all countries without exception in the following three sectors: the financial and insurance activities, information and telecommunications, and professional, scientific and technical activities. Analytical and graphical ways have confirmed a direct link between the level of wages and pensions of the gross domestic product per capita. We have systematized and generalized expert assessment of growth restraining factors of the Ukrainian economy and future directions of its development.
