Customs aspects of the defense of national economic interests of the countries

Abstract

Introduction. Global economic transformations have not only changed the structure of international economic relations, but also upgraded the format of International Trade Cooperation. It has acquired qualitatively new features, having creating challenges for the national economies. At the same time, it has expanded range of implementation of needs and interests. Under the influence of global factors the conditions of international trade,level of liberalization and security have substantially changed.The unification of the rules of international trade and harmonization of procedures of its regulation actualize the importance of customs policies to ensure the implementation of national economic interests. The study examined measures of customs policy which are directed at their protection in the context of globalization and liberalization of international trade.

Goal. The article aims to justify the need to protect national economic interests of countries in the context of globalization and to clarify the role of customs policy in their support.

Methods (methodology). The study has used a systematic and logical approaches.  The following methods are applied: a method of abstraction (to characterize the content of essential national interests); methods of comparative analysis, synthesis and generalization (to accompany the process of assessing the main trends of world trade and customs policy implementation directions for national economic interests); abstract and logical method (to draw conclusions).

Results. The result of the study summarizes the role of national interest for countries in the context of globalization. The basic trend of world trade are defined. The importance of customs policy in ensuring the safety of international trade is proved. Customs  aspects of compliance with the national economic interests of Ukraine are determined.
