Competitiveness of the products of machine-building complex of Ukraine in export and import operations

Abstract

This article deals with the problem of competitiveness of engineering complex production of Ukraine in the international market.  It is indicated the relationship between the competitiveness of export and import operations, engineering and economics in general. 

The dynamics of production volume indices and industrial engineering Ukraine is examined. The state of export and import operations of engineering industry during the period of 2004-2015 is investigated. It is noted that the main goal is to highlight the current state of peculiarities of import and export products of machine-building complex of Ukraine and to determine the directions as for the improvement of the efficiency of foreign trade.

The methodological basis for the study is a set of scientific methods of systematic and comparative analysis, evaluation and diagnosis, ensuring comprehensiveness research situation and development of products of engineering industry in Ukraine, its competitiveness in the global market.

The research works of domestic scholars are analysed in this paper.  Despite their achievements there is a number of questions that have to be investigated.

 In this scientific research we have indicated some ways of overcoming obstacles of development of competitiveness of production machinery industry in the international market.

The article provides suggestions for improving the situation with the international trade in machinery industry.  They can be implemented by increasing the level of scientific and technological processes, quality system compliance, investment, government support etc.

Consideration of this topic which reflects the problem issues and recommendations for their overcoming is very useful for machine building enterprises, economists, investors, analysts, politicians and other stakeholders.
