Dilemmas of theoretical conceptualization of transnational banking capital

Abstract

Introduction. The results of a critical analysis of resource, structural and functional approaches to the interpretation of the concept of bank capital are shown in the article. On the basis of the systematization of views of economists as for the nature of bank capital and consideration of the specific characteristics of functioning of transnational capital of banks it is formed the theoretical concept of the term "transnational bank capital".

Purpose. The aim of the research is to develop a theoretical concept of the term "transnational bank capital".

Results. In the article the necessity of research of conceptual approaches to the definition of "bank capital" has been proved. On this basis the theoretical concept of transnational banking capital has been formed. Three conceptual approaches to the treatment of bank capital (resources, structural and functional approaches) have been allocated and critically analysed. On the basis of the specific features of the functioning of transnational capital of banks the theoretical concept of transnational banking capital has been formed. It has allowed to perform comprehensive review and to reveal the essence of this concept more carefully.
