Analysis of global energy security: theoretical and practical considerations

Iryna Mykhailivna Mazur

The complex research of the resources aspect of global energy safety has allowed to find out basic threats and factors which stipulate the basic tendencies of its change. Due to the critical analysis of the theoretical and practical principles of the global power safety evaluation as the basic criteria are grounded: material well-being of fuel and energy resources; efficiency of production and transporting; possibility of diversification of sources of supply; use of potential of renewable energy sources; efficiency of fuel and energy resources consumption. There has been constructed the system of indexes, based on certain criteria, and the general integral indexes, built on the ratio of proved reserves growth of a fuel and energy resource to annual extraction or production output reflects sufficiency of raw-material base for uninterrupted supply  and on the ratio of reserves growth to annual fuel and energy consumption. In the course of the research of energy security indicators it is essential to take into account the factors of hydrocarbons removal or energy utilization or conversion.

To account the usage of utilization of secondary, renewable and other sources of energy as   it is necessary to use the energy utilization factor, fuel utilization factor, energy conversion factor, utilization factor of secondary energy resources.
