Active management of investment processes amid global financial imbalances

Abstract


The essence of changes in the sphere of international investment management has been considered under the influence of latest trends and peculiarities of the global financial system development. The activities of investment banks, asset management companies are analyzed to identify the level of their influence and involvement in causing the global financial instability. The research of non-bank financial institutions — hedge funds, insurance companies, pension funds, clearing houses, and elements of capital market infrastructure is undertaken in view of their importance for the overall functioning of the financial system and the ability to cause systemic risk. There has been analyzed a number of other risks with increased attention of potential investors arising under circumstances of volatility and uncertainty of the business environment. The importance and need for further study and research of international experience on eliminating imbalances and establishing effective functioning of the securities market including the list of available financial instruments are defined in order to develop and implement a new effective development model of the national market of financial instruments.
