Role of recreational potential of the region in competitiveness of recreational and tourism industry

Abstract


The article investigates the recreational potential of the Crimea region and Big Yalta subregion. There has been determined the role of recreational potential for creation of competitive advantages and competitiveness of  recreational and tourism industry of the region. The problems of its effective implementation are identified. The advantages of natural and anthropogenic character of Big Yalta subregion relative towards other subregions of the Crimea. The changes in the structure of the recreational and tourism complex in Crimea for the period of 2002-2012 are studied and the reasons for this phenomenon are determined. Among the main problems there can be identified legality, seasonality functioning industry, transport improvement, investment conditions into the industry. There has been carried out the analysis of the recreational development of the Big Yalta and Crimea, that allows to emphasize the problems of this area. Indicators of recreational development characterize insufficient development of the region and subregion, and unevenness of their development.
