Development of theoretical and methodological principles of research of the social-labor relations in the theory of neoinstitutionalism

Oleksiy Mykolayovych Laushkin

Abstract

Introduction. The neoclassical paradigm is a methodological basis of the industrial production system and employment analysis. With the beginning of the cognitive capitalism era it is replaced by the neoinstitutional theory.  The bounded rational economic agents, which make their choice in conditions of high uncertainty of the decision-making environment and according to existing obligation of keeping to "rules of the game", are the central points of this theory. The development of a new methodology allows to reveal main features of post-industrial work organization, where the function of the employee is not confined to accomplishment of repetitive and routine tasks, but, on the contrary, extends in the direction of his/her inner human capital realization to the full extent. The author emphasizes the importance of redefinition of general theory of employment’s substantive core, taking into account the contribution of neoinstitutional schools of economic thought and points to the significant potential of the new evolutionary social theory in reforming the existing model of social-labor relations.

Purpose. To analyze the current state of development of theoretical and methodological foundations of the social-labor relations.

Method (methodology). The general scientific research methods are used in the study. Among them we can single out the method of abstraction, analysis and synthesis, deduction and induction, historical and systematic analysis. Such scientists as O. Amosha, S. Bandur, D. Bell, R. Volti, V. Geec, A. Gorz, O. Grishnova, P. Drucker, D. Zonderman, V. Inozemtsev, A. Kolot, E. Libanova, N. Lukyanchenko, F. Machlup, D. North, V. Onikienko, M. Porat, G. Torlak, D. Hounshell, L. Shaulskaya have made a significant contribution in the scientific development of theoretical and applied problems of the employment transformation.

Results. On the basis of the retrospective analysis of the theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of characteristics of social-labor relations as the basic form of interaction between individuals and social groups in labor activity, it has been proven the necessity for revision of certain provisions of the neoclassical theory related to the subject of labour economics, social economics and policy. Economy of knowledge sets new requirements for the content and organization of labor activity, which purpose is no longer the production of wealth, but the creation of intangible knowledge, images, and ideas. In response to the request of practice, in the depths of neoinstitutionalism a new evolutionary social theory develops. It provides better understanding of the motives, targets, which form behavioral patterns of the main participants of socio-labour relations.
