Determination of key approaches to the classification of outsourcing at the modern stage of economic development
Abstract
Introduction. The development of forms of business organization in a globalized economy creates new ways of interaction between enterprises, which provide high efficiency of business processes and enhance the organization competitiveness. Outsourcing is one of these forms. The need for outsourcing in practice requires the development of scientific and methodological framework implementation in the activities of domestic enterprises. Today there are many interactions between the enterprise and outsourcer. It requires the classification of outsourcing in order to facilitate the optimal choice of them in each case. The object of the study is the process of relations between enterprises and outsourcers. The subject of the study is to examine the classification criteria of the outsourcing types.
Purpose. The purpose of the article is to develop a classification of outsourcing relevant to the current stage of economic development.
Method (methodology). The survey uses the methods of analysis, synthesis and theoretical generalization.
Results. In the course of the research it has been determined that there is no single approach to classification of outsourcing. On the basis of summarizing the results of research of scientists and economists it has been found a number of classifications of outsourcing that involves identifying types of outsourcing by activities, which the outsourcer is specialized in; depending on the degree of devolution; by reference to the professional activities of the enterprise; by the place of business processes that are transferred; by the number of transferred functions; by the number of performers; by value of transmission functions; by changes in organizational structure; by involving participants of the outsourcing deal in economic activity of each other; by major resource of the outsourcer; by the content of the outsourcer activity; by the country where the service provider company is based; by intervals of the services provided; by terms of the value chain formation; by innovativeness of outsourcing; by reasons that compel the company to use outsourcing; by the form of the performer’s presentation. It is also proposed to supplement the existing classification criteria by the following ones: the number of participants in the chain of the service delivery; by affiliation of the outsourcer and the company-client.
