The competitive cooperation as strategic alternative of the competition under globalization conditions
Abstract
In the article the essence, functions and models of competition are considered. Changes and features of competition in the context of globalization are identified. It has been found out that: 1) competition is an inherent part of development; 2) there is no single approach to understanding the essence of the concept of "competition" today - there are three approaches to understanding the essence of the term: behavioral (competition is seen as a clash, struggle, competition of business entities), structural (the competition is viewed through the totality of the factors determining and influencing enterprise development) and functional (competition is considered in terms of its role and function in the economy); 3) under the influence of the process of globalization both qualitative and quantitative changes take place - quantitative characteristics of competition in the context of globalization include the increase of number of subjects and objects of competition, quality characteristics include change of subjects, objects, principles, forms, methods and nature of competition, the development of competitive cooperation; 4) competition in a market economy performs the following functions: adjustable; allocative; adaptation (stimulating); integration; controlling; 5) today it is fixed the strengthening of the links between competition and cooperation, which are combined in a variety of combinations. The necessity of analyzing the competitive cooperation as a strategic alternative of the competition in the context of globalization is considered. It has been found out that interaction between the subjects of competitive relationship which is implemented through competitive cooperation strategy allows not only to achieve a synergetic effect, but also a change in the competitive nature of "play" from antagonistic to non-antagonistic. And as a result it allows assuring the positive result from this interaction for each of these subjects, the most effective development of the industry, the best meeting the needs of consumers and so on.
