Theoretical concepts of international economic integration
Abstract
Introduction. The investigation of the international economic integration becomes important. Integration is an objective feature of modern relations between states. Having analyzed different points of views on the nature of the integration processes, we can conclude that the unified theory of the international economic integration does not exist. Each country chooses its own unique way of the integration. The integration is an objective means of the development of the modern relations between states. The international integration is very complicated and contradictory process but at the same time it means the welfare improvement of the state and the transition to the more efficient production. The generalization of the various theories of the international economic integration is caused by the choice of the effective integration model of Ukraine. The phenomenon of integration as an economic and political category has been examined. Different points of view on economic integration in the historical aspect are shown.
Purpose of the study is to work out a set of scientific and methodological principles on the content of international economic integration.
Method (methodology). Generalization, historical, logical methods, method of abstraction and analysis are used.
Results. The scientific approaches to the definition of the term «international economic integration» are described. Different approaches to the definition of «the international economic integration» are tested from historical point of view. The author has given her own definition of «the international economic integration». The interpretation of the “economic integration” definitions is systematized. The evolution of the liberal, neo-liberal points of view on the international economic integration process development are investigated. The main principles of the market theory, market-institutionalist theory, realistic and idealistic schools, and the basic grounds of functionalism, neo-functionalism are considered.
