Statistical analysis of wage’s variation

Abstract

Introduction.  Wage as social and economic category and main tool of reaching personal needs of employees is considered in this article. The wage is also an economic lever that stimulates the development of society, growth of productivity, reducing of production costs, personnel distribution among economic activities. Therefore, this category is always relevant in the context of research of it’s different aspects. The problem of wages’ variations in Ukraine and Ukrainian regions needs a deeper and comprehensive research using statistical methods and tools.

Purpose is to design approaches to comparative statistical analysis of wages’ variation in Ukraine and Ukrainian regions.

Method (methodology). Elements of statistical methodology, including summarizing and grouping of variations, the method of elimination have been used in this research to achieve it’s main purpose.

Results. The usage of statistical indicators to analyze the variation of wages by economic activity allows to define and assess the level and degree of variable’s variation patterns.  Changes over time have been also investigated because of their major role in wage’s variation. In particular, it becomes possible to identify increasing or reducing trends of variables to draw conclusions about the influence of some factors on effective indicator. Ranking with further grouping allows to classify the system of indicators.
