Competitiveness of products of engineering industry

Abstract

In this article it is considered the problem of crisis state of machinery industry in Ukraine as one of the main industries. The relationship between competitiveness, machine building and economics in general is specified. The questions of relevance of competitiveness of machine building production at the present stage are revealed. The attention has been focused on the need to take certain steps to overcome the crisis situation and improve the functioning of this sector of the economy in the future.

We have examined the dynamics of the volume of industrial production in Ukraine in general.We have also paid attention to the necessity to make sertain steps to overcome the crisis. It has been analyzed the situation with the state of the engineering industry for 2010-2014 years. It has been noted that the main goal is to cover the current state of the production industry and machine-building enterprises of Ukraine.

The methodological basis for the study is a set of scientific methods of systematic and comparative analysis. They  have ensuredthe comprehensiveness of the analysis of the situation,the development of machinery industry production in Ukraine, and its competitiveness in the global market. The survey used the following scientific methods of cognition as method of analysis, method of scientific generalization, method of comparison, method of economic and statistical analysis.

The works of many domestic scholars have been studied. Due to their achievements we have come to a number of conclusions, formulated some problems of the topic,  indicated ways of overcoming obstacles, evaluated the prospects of development of the competitiveness of machinery industry products and machinery industry as a whole.

The article has provided suggestions for improvement  of engineering industry of Ukraine, and for improvement of the competitiveness of products of this industry, such as specialization, reconstruction, modernization through reforms. They can be implemented with the help of investment, privatization and of state support.

Consideration of this topic taking into account the issues and recommendations for the overcoming of all obstacles is very useful for citizens, economists, investors, analysts, politicians and other stakeholders.
