Abstract

Existing approaches in formation of the indicators for diagnosis of urban sustainable development, based on foreign and domestic experience, are systematized. There has been  discovered the essence of urban sustainable development in accordance with the laws of equifinality which is to provide the adequate access to basic urban infrastructure by regulating the material and non-material flows under the principles of optimality, intensity, environmental compatibility while providing reproduction of resources through rational use of them or reduction in consumption, structural changes in the consumption, replacement of non-renewable resources with renewable ones, that in this case contributes to the achievement of acceptable safety's level. According to the results of systematization of existing methodological approaches and defined essence of urban sustainable development, it is formed a set of diagnostic indicators for urban sustainable development in Ukraine. It is proposed to determine the integral indicator for urban sustainable development, based on the diagnosis and management of reproductive resource flows in the city.
