Support strategy for the functioning of the investment activity of insurers

Abstract

Introdution. The development of the insurance market is an essential precondition for the successful functioning of the economy as a whole. A  part of the investment of insurance companies is a contentious one among domestic and foreign scientists. The process of placement of insurance reserves requires the development and implementation of effective investment strategy, which is based on precise calculations and optimal investment decisions. They provide managers from insurance companies with higher yield during the process of placement of insurance reserves.

Purpose. The article aims to study factors influencing the insurance investment activities and to identify key measures to ensure the functioning of enhancing the investment activity of insurance companies in Ukraine. Also the issue of intensification of cooperation between citizens and insurance companies has to be taught thoroughly.

Method (methodology). The paper has used analytical and statistical methods. With the help of these methods  the problems of efficient functioning of insurance companies in the investment market have been investigated. The main directions of investments of domestic insurers have been analysed.

Results. We have analyzed the terms of the leading Ukrainian and foreign scholars in the field of the insurance market, as well as national legislation in the field of investment. The structure of the investment portfolio of insurance companies in Ukraine is worked out. The constraints and stimulating factors that enhance the population in cooperation with insurance companies are determined. The main objectives of the investment of insurance companies are grounded. We have come to the conclusion about the significant impact of the investment strategy of insurance companies on the their financial stability and solvency. The steps for the formation of mechanism of investment insurer stimulation are orrered.
