Main ways of development and improvement of the amortization policy in Ukraine

Introduction. The processes of dynamic development of Ukraine require undertakings appropriate regulation and adapt to market conditions. Nowadays there are two systems in the state that operate and are regulated by different laws and standards. They are the tax system and accounting and analytical system.  Their types, functions, methods of depreciation of fixed assets, their economic content are significantly different. Preparation of complete, accurate and impartial accounting information affects the financial statements. It also requires from the accountant the understanding of the economic content of categories "fixed assets", "wear", "depreciation", the awareness of mechanism of reproduction of fixed assets and the ability to evaluate methods alongside with with the key indicators of finansial and  business activity of the enterprises.

Goal. The purpose of this research is to study the theoretical and methodological principles of accounting depreciation of fixed assets in connection with the reproductive process and to clarify the theoretical positions that reveal the economic substance of amortization and depreciation.

The method (methodology). In this research we have applied dialectical method of knowledge and systematic approach. The latter enablesthe complex exploration of the theoretical and methodological principles of accounting; the consideration of the process of reproduction means of labor; the identification of the characteristics of depreciation in accounting and tax accounting. To summarize the theoretical and methodological principles of accounting depreciation the techniques of abstract and logical method have been used, namely, method of analysis and synthesis, method of analogy and comparison, induction and deduction method.

Results. The change of  economic conditions of reproduction of economic capital in the Ukrainian economy has led to the need to study the system of depreciation of fixed assets, to the financial and economic content of formation and  further implementation of depreciation policy of the company. It has been caused by the fact that the depreciation policy of the state and individual enterprises is a major factor of fixed assets restoring and, consequently, of economic growth of potential of the company.
